PAPUA NEW GUINEA – CHINA BUSINESS FORUM & TRADE EXPO
The Ministry and Department of International Trade and Investment will be hosting the inaugural PNG – China Business Forum & Trade Expo after 50 years of bilateral relationship between our two countries. The event will be held from October 19 – 21, 2026, at the Shangri-La Hotel in Guangzhou, China under the theme “Anchoring the PNG – China Relationship on Trade and Investment”.
This strategic three-day event will start with a welcome reception on Sunday, October at 5:00pm.
This business forum & trade expo will bring together business communities, investors, and PNG producers who want export their goods to China. We are looking at 750 delegates from each country – a total of 1,500 delegates and investment opportunities within our provinces including the Autonomous Region of Bougainville.
We will market investment opportunities in sectors like fisheries, forestry, manufacturing, hydro and solar energy, mining and petroleum projects, and more to the Chinese investors who will attend this business forum & trade expo. We will also market our Special Economic Zones.
The event will coincide with the Canton Fair, the world’s largest biannual trade show held in Guangzhou. This way our delegates will also attend this important fair that will feature tens of thousands of suppliers and a vast array of global supply chain products.
We will only have one level of sponsorship and that is Gold Sponsorship at the cost of K200,000. Every sponsor will be given 20 minutes to speak at the forum, they will be recognized in all our promotional materials, they will be given priority to set up their booths to promote their goods and services, and five of their representatives will have unlimited access to the forum as delegates.
We are extending an invitation to the Provincial Government Administrations to be sponsors so you can promote the investment opportunities in your provinces and your products to China, the biggest market in the world with 1.4 billion people.
Delegates who wish to attend the business forum & trade expo will pay K3,000 per head.
A booth can be secured at the cost of K10,000.

All sponsorship, exhibition and delegate fees cover event participation and the benefits specifically outlined in each package only.
The fees do not include:
- International or domestic airfares/tickets
- Accommodation
- Meals, refreshments or dining outside the official event programme
- Visa fees and related travel expenses
- Personal transportation and other incidental expenses
Participants and sponsors are responsible for arranging and covering their own travel, accommodation and personal expenses.
Official event meals and refreshments, where specifically provided as part of the programme, will be communicated separately by the Organizing Committee.
